it finally happened!!!

hello every bloggie

I just wanted to say something quickly about yesterday's post. Yep I had an encounter with a nesting swan. I didn't get this close to see it hissing at me. Thankfully I had my leash attached. I actually walked right by it at first and it appeared out of nowhere. Whew.. mom was glad my leash was on. It was HUGE and monopolized the trail. We had to take an off trail way around. I didn't want to mess with this one.

Now onto more important things. IT FINALLY HAPPENED! I was walking along my usual trail. Mr. Frog decided to veer away from the pond side and right on the trail path.
See.. him. I did and before I knew it.. I had it in my mouth. I finally caught him!
Then I heard a "eeesschh nooo". The frog flung from my lips and I began to "froth'. A stream of suds (like Mango but not nearly as impressive) came dripping out. I was spitting and frothing.
Mom checked out the frog and all appendages were in tact. No blood no teeth marks. She was afraid frog guts would start spewing from me. Thankfully no... I guess I don't like the frog flavor but it still hasn't stopped me from hunting them. huh? now I'm confused.

  3. Norwood, that swan is a good picture for eyewatch Friday. I put my eyewatch up a little early as a tribute to my big Sis's birthday. How did the frog taste?? Did you try the legs? I hear that people eat them sometimes.

    licks and sniffs, Sasha

  13. Ewww! Ick!! We'll try to remember!!!

You might want to change your "All About Me" to read something more specific than "I love frogs".

  14. EWWWIE! I hope you remember next time that frogs are better left to the hoomans... they like frog legs as a delicacy, but I'll stick with chiken' thankyouverymuch!

  15. We're impressed Norwood - you caught it, even if it didn't taste very nice. The nslm's parents used to eat a lot of frogs legs, snails and other funny stuff like that when they lived in Belgium - but they say the secret is lots of lots of garlic!!

    Maybe next time ...

    take care

  16. Hi Norwood - wow, what an evetful walk! Hey, it's almost a shame it was a frog you licked - we hear that if you licked a toad you'd feel all mellow and relaxed, he he he! Schnauzer snuggles - JD and Max.

  17. Hmmm, congrats, we think:) And something tells us you aren't going to trade in frogs for something else to hunt.

  18. Nice hunting Norwood.Pretty nifty. But prolly better sauted and served with garlic butter and a slug of white burgundy rather than your carpaccio style.

  26. Eeew, bet it tasted yuckey, perhaps you are better just to look for them next time Norwood and not actually taste them..hehe

  27. Oh Norwood, I missed so much while I was away.

I am so glad you are ok after the froggy incident, and the frog was also not harmed. My heart skipped a beat while reading that, you see, some frogs are toxic to doggies. I almost lost Princess, my female GSD, when she bit a frog, and she had to be hospitalized for several days.

They are fun to look at, admire, and sometimes even chase, but be careful.

Lots of love and many many tummy rubs for all the ones I missed.

  28. There's no accouting for tastes, that's what they say. =) I think I'd never put a real frog in my mouth, but I do love the taste of mud, don't you?! You're the best Norwood! =** Much love from Brazil!

  30. Good thing that crazy swan didn't get you!

I love to play with hippities, but they make me froth & foam & sometimes even throw up. I know it's wrong, but I am weak against their powers!
