That's all... oh you may wonder why I have a skate board? For real, trainer dude paul wants me to learn how to ride it. So far got only 2 paws on and will push it. If I ever make it with all four paws on, you will be the first to see it in action! Remember "action is his reward! To him, life is a great big bang up Whenever there's a hang up You'll find the Spider man."

nordude films presents the groundhog vs the rant

hi every bloggie!
I've been super busy producing films. This weekend I filmed a delightful flick called.....

free smileysfree smileysfree smileysfree smileys paws up!
The Boston Globe says this flick has it all... delightful aerobatic action by norweed, stunning sight unseen performance by the land beaver and horrorifying screams by the ranter. It's a recipe for surefire entertainment!

Warning this film is rated PG-13 due to potential violence. Not suitable for dog trainer audiences.

Okay dim the lights.... shhh! It's about to begin

Hope you enjoyed the show!
I think my blog assistant deserves an emmy nomination for her superb vocals and delivery of my name in various ways! Watch for the sequel..Coming to a theatre near you... the groundhog vs norweed- the dance of death II

K95K trail race adventure

hi every bloggie!

Last weekend I headed down to Cape Cod. Who doesn't like going to the Cape... well besides the stupid traffic. Anywho, I went to the Cape to run in my very first race, the K95K trail race. It was for humans AND their dogs! Wahoo! The race took place in Falmouth in the BeBee Woods Trails and it was a blast!

Here's me styling and profiling at the start line.
And somehow I talked Fun Aunt Dee into joining in the fun. Since she's a teacher, she has nothing else to do right now.
But Fun Aunt Dee was Tula-less. Tula is not much of a runner.. let alone walker in the heat so she joined the race virtually - on her iPhone. Some may say that's a smarter way to enjoy the race.

Okay okay, I was super excited to get this started. The race director estimated about 100 dogs attended the event and over 1/2 ran with their humans. Check out the start line! Furry Fun balls.

Let's just say, once the start horn blew- it was on. Mom has never felt the power of the pack before until today! We were flying! Check out this raw photo coverage of me running on the trail. That's what mom saw the entire time while dodging rocks, tree roots and other racers.
The finish line! Exhausted.
Here's actual footage of my fun aunt dee crossing the finish line with tula on her arm.
Umm.. these water buckets just didn't seem big enough for me to dip my whole body in. Oh.. what's that? They were meant for drinking not swimming? Oops- my bad.
If interested, here's a short Finish line video where we all laid out. Then comes the pawty part. After the race there was an award ceremony, food, an auction and other stuff to raise money for the Friends of Falmouth Rescue! Oh yeah and I was blessed! This lady did a special blessing of us pets. Mom tried to get me front and center, saying something that I need extra blessing powers some days. Silly she's the one who's blessed for having me.

Oh yeah..There was lots of cool things up for auction.
People sure can make a dog out of almost anything.
CapeK Cardio was the cool pet sitting company who hosted the race. Seems like they are personal fitness trainers for dogs taking them running and to the beach. For a nordude like me, I wish I lived in their range of service. Here's their slideshow from the race.
That's all folks! See you at the finish line! woot woot!

what's in a name?

hi every bloggie!

Happy 4th of July! The holiday is finally here! Which means fun balls, cook outs, swimming, and Frankie Furter's Name Game. What's in a name.. Je m'appelle Norwood- C'est moi! How did I get my name?

Guess #1- Many people think I'm from the town of Norwood Massachusetts. It's a lovely town that sits a bit southwest of Boston and named after a community Norwood, England. I personally think I should be elected town mayor to represent the town as only a Norwood could.

Guess #2- I was named after the infamous Buffalo Bill's kicker Scott Norwood.

You see, Super Bowl XXV would cement Norwood's name in football history when he missed a 47-yard field goal attempt at the end of the game, giving the New York Giants the victory. ABC sportscaster Al Michaels had the call: "No good! Wide right!" as the Giants poured Gatorade over head coach Bill Parcells' head.

It's been the missed kick of the century and Scott Norwood had to go underground for awhile. Man.. I'd hate to be that dude.. oh maybe that warrants a name change.

Guess#3- My great grandfather was an astounding cardiologist Dr. Norwood

He developed the NORWOOD procedure to help babies born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome. I most definitely am proud to carry on his name. See this amazing re-plumbing of the heart.. smart grampy.

Okay okay.. those are all good guesses but to tell you the truth, my story is quite boring. The good rescuers at PAWS New England Rescue and the folks in Tennessee where I was found, named me Norwood.

See look at me.. don't I look like a Norwood? So the name stuck. Voila! Je m'appelle Norwood.
Nicknames: Norweed, Nordude, goofball, mr. bizerko, norwood pie and beep beep. (that's an entire different post to explain)

Okay.. that's all! Thanks Frankie Furter for hosting this wonderful bloggie event! And I shall leave you with a Fourth of July celebratory firework display. Don't worry! This one is boom free!

eYewatch friday- dangerous sightings

hi every bloggie!

It's friday It's friday! Wahoo that means another round of eyewatch. This week's edition- dangerous sightings. Lately you'd think I live in a very dangerous place.

I was minding my own business back over Memorial Day. I always head to the frog pond and field behind the local high school when I came across this signage.

WTF??? Did I take a wrong turn and walk all the way to TEXAS? So I surveyed the area. Huh.. so far no biggie. Right?

Then I spotted this..... .gasp. What in the world??? I moved in closer.

HOLY CRAP. One bull moved in to check me out then the entire herd moved behind him. ALL eYes on moi! I didn't make a sound. I didn't move. Quickly snapped a shot and quietly turned away. I know I know... I am part cattle dog. What's the problem... okay.. you first.

So then I thought no better place to feel safe than at grad skool. But no... eYe put my eYes on an incredible sight. Seems some moose ... yep a Mango moose was bucking and howling at me when I came to skool last week. As teacher's pet, I'm gonna have to talk to trainer dude about who he's letting into class.

Then I get to my car. Ummm....Someone had her eYes on me.

I was feeling a bit like deli meat. I bet Tula's thinking "I'll take a 1/2 lb of norwood sliced thin for my tula monstah sandwich".

I know the rules.. just like with the bulls.. nobody moves nobody gets hurt.
Okay that's enough of this eYewatch friday! Be safe out there.

hi every bloggie!

Remember Stumpy, Alfy and Fenway hosted the Khyra's Khatch Me if Woo Khan Contest? I entered with a stunning 11 catches but lost out to Wyatt who caught a whopping 25! But I'm still not a loser! Nope! Look what arrived yesterday. Addressed to Moi! Norwood.. umm... umm.. Krakha as in cracker dog! I'm so flattered.

I opened it quickly and read the super cool letter. Look at the bakery staff. They look like cookie experts to me. This has got to be good. Guarenteed delicious I bet.
