signs of spring

hi every bloggie!

You know the saying, March comes in like a lion and leaves like a lamb. Well this year, March has been all roars. Between rain drops and receding waters, I've seen signs of spring along the assabet river- my usual stomping grounds.

The plant life and vegetation is popping up. I don't know the name of this delightful plant but I did water it some more.

Mom was super excited although you can't really see it. That's woodie the woodpecker! We hear him every day but finally caught him with our own eyes!

Mr. Beaver commissioned and donated his own sculptures to the river front. Usually the water level doesn't even hit this tree. That's' how much rain we've had.

He is quite the craftsman but doesn't pick up after himself. Look at all the woodchips left behind.

Oh we've seen painted turtles too! They love to sun tan! Hold on fella don't jump in until we snap the foto! Whew! Just in time!

Since the foliage hasn't grown in it, I get to stick my snooter into large holes or dens that are usally covered up quite well. Yoohooo anybody home? Not sure who lives there but I'll check again later.

Oops that's not a den! I've never got my snooter close to that hole either. Tula please! Still working on that greeting in graduate school. Well I can practice at least right? For your sake, just be glad it's not a scratch and sniff post.

I guess with all those signs, spring must be coming- right?

PS I've only heard frog chirping love songs in my early morning walkies but no sightings just yet. Trust me, you will be the first to know!

As for the last photo, as if it wasn't enough I was already laughing, you go on and write the bit about us being lucky it's not a scratch and sniff post, and now my sides are aching from laughing so much. You're the dude, Norwood.

  10. You know how to "do" spring, Norwood. We'll try to follow your lead. Including putting snooters into holes. So long as no muskrats bite us in greeting.

What a role model you are,

  17. We're totally waiting for the season to turn... what's taking so long? We had a few beautiful days, and now all the critters are out. Plenty of chasing to do, but no footing on all the wet ground.

Was Tula's pose her opinion on all the rainy weather?! You guys always know how to have a great time, though!
