vexing the lake chauncy shores

Would you believe it? I found a new swimming hole- Lake Chauncy. WEll I can't take full credit. Tula found it and told me about it. What's really great is it is tucked away behind the State Mental Health Hospital and new juvenile prison so most of the humans are behind fences, not us dogs. That's strange. Yep the land was developed as a trail system- the Charm Bracelet trails. I love MA because trails are developed just about anywhere. You can trip and fall into a trail.

Well, in light of the recent great white shark sightings on Cape Cod, I decided to take a dip and show off my great white imitations.

Keep all women and children away from the shore! Okay. I think I scared away anyone near the water. Maybe I'll make the news too.

What a fun weekend! I had a huge job- helping celebrate birthdays. If you didn't know, I am very talented at throwing parties and opening presents. I got right to work.

Then I checked out this box. (sorry about picture quality-mom should get a real camera w/a flash)

I had the most fun with this box. Hmmm.... what's inside??

Little bottles? What? They smell delicious....

I really love this one. I nom nom nomed (is that a verb) for a while until it was taken away.

Yep... I love garlic. Mom puts it in my meals as a natural tick, flea, bug repellent. I don't smell do I?

Then I had to give Fun Old Aunt Dee a birthday kiss.

And hugs for mom.

Oh boy... for me? How did I manage to get a gift for me? Mom says thanks to everyone for all the birthday wishes. It sounds like the 40s aren't so bad after all.

Hello every bloggie!

Today I had to set aside the release of my new movie... the norwoodinator. You can view the trailer real quick. I hope you like my big debut.

What could be more important?Yep.. on Sept 7th Tula's mom turns 40 and so does MOM! That's right they are twins.

Here they are as little girls. They had to sing to get their Christmas presents. They actually had to do everything together which explains why they still do now.

And here is a more recent picture. Luckily I can tell them apart... it's not that hard with these two. Mom's not exactly thrilled about this mile marker but what can you do. But I told Mom the entire country took a holiday for it. Government, banks, schools are closed. Parades fill the streets. Oh.. she reminded me that 's for Labor Day not her birthday. Nice try -huh?

I am going to surprise them with my famous frog legs layered cake with a tuna cream frosting... yum. I hope they like it.

It's eYewatch friday but today it's about seeing things another way. My catpal Kareltje posted about ears. My ears are more often my eyes. I leap to action the minute I hear something move. Mom says it's because I lack impulsive control. But anywhoo, it's neither here nor there. Kareltje asked.. how are dog's ears different and what do dog ears communicate. Here ya go Karltje! I'll do my best to demonstrate.

1-Aggression-Forward or back, close to head

2-Alert-Perked-up. Turning to catch sounds.

3- Anxious-Partially back

4- Chase-Perked-up, forward-pointing.

5-Dominant-Up straight or forward.

6-Fearful-Laid back flat and low on head.

7-Friendly-Perked-up.

8-Curious/Eager/Excited- Perked-up, forward-pointing.

9- Playful-Perked-up and forward, or relaxed.

10-Predatory-Alert. Held forward or backward to catch.

11- Travel mode- ears tucked back for streamlining.

Today the ears have it. They more often lead me before my eyes! TGIF!
