my purrfect birthday party

hello every bloggie!

This past Friday I celebrated my 2nd birthday.  According to Eric the Square Dog, it means I get to act like a fool this year. Terrible Twos.  Bad boy years.

So I celebrated my upcoming year as a bad boy at mom's friend Mary's house. Mary and her family are cat lovers. In fact, this household has a member who is "afraid' of dogs. But nonetheless, her cats Tiger and Sabrina decided to throw me a party.    They just didn't know it.  I dressed up in my favorite froggie bandana.

Upon my arrival, I immediately was drawn to the tuna dish buffet.  That was very thoughtful of Tiger and Sabrina.
Then I had to do the meet and greet.  Hello Maggie! Put down your iPhone and pay attention to me.  She grumbled something at me.. teenagers. So silly and temperamental.
Then I had to get up close to Mary to tell her thanks for having me over.
She had some complaints about my tuna buffet breath.  Hey.. Tiger and Sabrina fed me.. don't blame me.  And finally the host appeared. It's Tiger.  Sabrina.. refused to participate.  Are all cats this finicky? Tiger wouldn't come near me at first.  Is this a party game? I love games.
This game is fun.  Tiger took off so I followed.  Hide and Seek is the best.  Oh there he is! Tiger is up the stairs! He must think I'm afraid of heights.

But I made it all the way up the stairs and heard... "dinner served"!!!

The game went into half time when dinner was being served. Saved by the bell. Score Tiger 0 Norwood 1.  I offered to help Mary. Look how fast she was moving.  She didn't want my help. Okay.. I'll just eat then.
I was seated next to Monty.  He is definitely a "non- dog" person.  In fact, a bit afraid.  So while he ate his dinner.. I did something really nice for him.  Yep I licked his toes under the table during dinner.  Who wouldn't enjoy that? See his silly grin. I think he really liked it.
Half time over... score  Tiger 0 Norwood 1.  Tiger comes out.  I close in.  Tiger stands his ground.  Hiss Hiss.  And I retreat to under the table with a googly eye on him.
Tiger boldly sits all proud.  Tie score Tiger 1 Norwood 1   Game Over.  You know, I can't imagine celebrating my birthday any other way. Tiger's the best toy ever although he may want to refine his hosting skills!  The honorary guest should always win.

We didn't get any ice cream - there wasn't any in the freezer, and mom had to go to work. She says she will make us some frosty paws someday soon.

  11. Happy Birthday Norwood! I am the same way with non-doggie people, I just want to be close to them and help convert them.

Did you find the kittie litter box? Those cats hide most yummers treats in there.

  17. That looks like a very happy birthday celebration. You were a champ at getting all the 2 and 4 leggeds to participate. Why, you got the Human Who Doesn't Care Much for Dogs to smile and giggle. Nice idea with the toe work! And you got Tiger, the Stern Looking Cat to play hide & seek! The best was getting that 2 legged teenager to ignore her iPhone for a split second. That's really talented!

Glad you had a great National Ice Cream Day, too! We're still waiting to celebrate--tho we've been promised it won't be long now. The human already had his celebration. Hmph!
