eYewatch friday- hobbs brook adventure

hi every bloggie!
it's friday! it's eYewatch friday! wahoo! I'm super excited to tell you about a new trail I hiked over Memorial Day weekend. It's right behind the Wayside Inn in Sudbury called Hobbs Brook Conservation Land.

I had my eYe on the sky.It started out as the most beautiful day! We were only 5 minutes into the walk until eYe spyed the pond.
Oh yes I casted myself in front of it for a mid day norwood shadow shot.

What's really neat is the name of the trail I was on was called the LIZARD trail. I thought of my good pal Brucethecat who is the ultimate lizard connoisseur for the entire trail. Well.. maybe not the entire time b/c I got distracted by a snake along it. I grabbed it to play a game of bitey face until I heard non-stop screaming. Geesch! Sorry no pictures of it.
So off I went-sing with me now... along the board walk.. up over the pond.. along the board walk..

We went along the boardwalk and headed to the brook where eYe kept my mince pies peeled for peepers.

It was all to myself. I swam around like a predator waiting to eYe my prey.

When all of a sudden out of nowhere these humans appeared! They seemed to be impressed with my swimming technique!

But they brought along with them a goon squad member- a labradork.

He wanted nothing to do with me. He just wanted the stick - pant pant pant- the stick throw the stick. He wasn't interested in playing with me so I moved on....

Choo Choo.. part of the trail required you to traverse across a railroad track that served as a bridge over the brook. First me, then mom followed.
It was a bit scary at first because you can see thru to the water while you walk over. But it lead me back to the boardwalk... we'll be having some fun.. under the boardwalk...... keep singing.

Look under the boardwalk... eYe watched closely and finally! mr peeper was getting a spa treatment in the mud.

The ultimate eYewatch- two small peepers peeping up at me!
Needless to say that meant only one thing!

Happy eYewatch Friday! PS- Wednesday's foto was from this adventure- if you can't tell I had a fabby time.

i went back in time.. & pet pride

hi everybloggie!
Last weekend I traveled back in time. First the setting, the Wayside Inn. Since 1716, this place has been located on Boston Post Road offering hospitality and comfort to travelers. The Wayside Inn has a fascinating history.. check out the website if you have a minute. Some say the place is haunted... muuaaahhh!
But I went there to check out a festival. It was the Colonial Drum & Fife Festival. I didn't stay too long because take a listen.. constant and I mean constant drumming!

But I made a quick tour around and took in the ambiance of colonial times.
Huh? People are really taking this seriously. Wear can I get some colonial garb?
And this fun game, the kids get to walk around this lady and entangle her in a rope! I like that game.. gonna tell mom we should play that one.
The British are coming! The British are coming!! I thought they came along time ago! What in the world! Click to biggify any image if you need a closer look!
It looks like they're ready to fight. I'm gonna scoot to a quieter area. I'm a lover not a fighter anyways.
So I went to the trading posts. Teepee's are fun but I wasn't allowed to pee on it. It's a Tee Pee? Huh I'm confused again. Look below.. look close! An open roasting chicken! Oh yeah! now that smells deeeeelicious! I'm sure you can smell it now too!
On the grounds is an old mill- the Grist Mill which ground it's first grain on Thanksgiving 1929.
It was quite interesting and beautiful. I love watching the waterfall. Ahhh the sound of water falling, I think I have to pee again.

Intermission- Oops time for a roach break. I get so excited.. I have to rub it off.
And we came back to a field of drumming. I feel a bit out of place. Now would I wear red or blue? I wonder what my pals the Happy Heelers would suggest?

After I skirted away from the musical drums, I came across another historic spot.. I'm learning so much my peanut head is about to pop. George Washington had a tree planted in his honor.
Whew.. that was enough for me. I'm headed back to 2009. Fast forward please! I hope I didn't age any..
Happy Pet Pride day! Don't forget to visit my other pals with pride!
