walk for hunger part two

hi every bloggie!
You might remember earlier in the month, I walked in the Project Bread Walk for Hunger 20 miler event. Here's my first blog post walking for hunger- part one. Well I took lots of fotos and even a couple videos that were not posted. Since I had lots of funds raised from my blog pals, I thought I'd finish sharing in today's post.

And we're off... a video from the initial mile. Oh.. I only walked the first 6 miles. Dogs were not encouraged to walk the event but I had to do my part for a few miles. We broke the rules...no arrests occurred though.
The walking route took the walkers along the Charles River. The Boston University Sailing team took advantage of the hot day.
Darn.. I was hoping that dog was Lady MFT- aka Miss Khyra. No luck.
Here's the Harvard Boat House... of course fancie.

Hmmm.. Dennis? DennistheVizsla is that you? I know you're always hungry but to come from Cali for food is a bit much.
Finally, we hit mile 19. Here is the gate to the Boston Common's Public Garden.
Walkers everywhere!
Just a perfect last mile to end the race.
The infamous swan boats.
Yes! Yeah.. that's what mom was waiting to see! Her 4 huge blisters were anxiously waiting to see it too!
Can you feel the energy and excitement? We did it!!!
And here's one more video of mile 17.
Thanks again every bloggie for your generous donations and I hope u enjoyed your visit to Beantown.

walking for hunger- part one

hi every bloggie!

Oh boy! Yesterday was the Walk for Hunger! A 20 mile walk to benefit local food pantries and help feed children/families in need. This is mom and her work walking crew. We as a group raised $6000 total for the event. Mom raised $780 herself! That's alot of money! I personally think she had the best fund raising honor roll.. thanks to Brucethecat, Mango & Dexter, The Miss White Fluffy Tail Khyra, Sam and Pippen, the OP pack , Nermal the cat, Agatha & Archie, Chester and my galpal Lacie. Pawsome job! and a super big thank you!( I hope I didn't leave out anyone)
The event, like most started in the Boston Commons. The weather started as overcast but got up to 90. Don't worry, I started at 7am when it was 60 degrees and only walked 6 miles.
And.... we're off.
I was super excited to be in the city. I've never really walked in the city before. Everyone-even the policeman wanted to say hi to me.
This is I think around mile 2. The infamous Citgo sign means the home of the Boston Red Sox is near- Fenway Pawwhk.
We walked along the Commonwealth Ave parkway. Lots of doggies. See that one! Looks as gigantic as my cuz Tula- I'm pretty far away. S/he was a beautiful St Bernard.
Ha! The 1st Check in point was sponsored by mom's work. That's Linda who is part of our team! She got me so excited I tried to jump onto the table. That gave these ladies something to talk about.
Next checkpoint- water break.
Next we arrived at Chestnut Hill Reservoir. MA has all these reservoirs around but NO SWIMMING allowed. Boo! But sausages, fried dough, coffee were. Hmm. What should I sample.
But this was the point fun aunt dee was picking me up. Ladadadaha
Where is she?
There she is... okay few more fotos to post but that's enough for today. And now for a Pawdance Film Festival Update!
Did you know the RH Mango sings?
In his latest romantic flick, he croons and pleads with the best. Hold onto your pantaloons ladies, this is the flick for you. Mango's rendition of "let's get it on" will leave you breathless.
if the trailor is a rockin' don't come knockin'. You still have until May 9th to enter the 2010 Pawdance Film Festival

walking for hunger wednesday

hi every bloggie!

Guess what? I'm participating in an important event soon. On May 2nd we're walking 20 miles as part of mom's work - the Raytheon Wyman Walkers team! The 20 mile event benefits Project Bread- Walk for Hunger! Here's the walking route- Starts and Ends at the Boston Commons. Click to biggify.
It's a fantastic tour of Boston and Cambridge with food, music and fun along the entire route. Me, Mr. Norwood will join mom at stop 6 Cambridge Boat Club to lead her to the finish line! I think at that point she'll need it.

Please consider donating to this great cause. I have a $500 goal and almost there so $5, $10, $20.. it all counts. Also these silly Raytheon folks are in teams and trying to compete for the largest funds raised. Right now the Wyman Walkers are in a tight race for 2nd. You can donate by clicking on my donation page below.

Also don't forget to get your entries in for the Pawdance film festival. We received our first entry for the Comedy Category... here's a hint. Why did the rooster cross the balloon?
and
You'll see that stand up act during film festival week!
Remember you don't have to have fancy movie making skills. Just get an old video or take a new video ! I know plenty of cracker terriers that have killed plenty of stuffies to qualify for the murder category. You know who you are.... Get your entries in! Here's a refresher of the rules. If you have a question, please email me norwoodunleashed@gmail.com. Oh..rumor has it Mango has been pulling together a dance routine... I thought I felt the earth shake over here...
