power of the pack

hi every bloggie!

On Oct 27th, I received a heart wrenching email from my rescue PAWS New England. (that's me as a young pup just rescued)

Dear PAWS Supporters,

We hope this email finds you well and enjoying the fall season. We at PAWS have had a most difficult and trying few months and all of us are concerned about our current financial health and the future of our organization. Please watch our video message to learn more details:

http://vimeo.com/7301300

To engage in rescue work, one must maintain an optimistic attitude—we are hopeful that better times are around the corner. We believe in our work and have always been awed by the generosity of you. Please help us survive this recession; there are so many dogs who rely on us as their sole lifeline.

In order to meet our operational budget requirements through the end of the year, we need to raise $15,000. We know that we can accomplish this daunting task by asking a lot of people for small amounts of money and getting very creative with our fundraising. Please help us reach our goal. You can follow our progress by watching the fundraising thermometer that we will be updating daily on our petfinder page:pawsnewengland.petfinder.com.

Thank you, as always, for your support!

The pups and volunteers at PAWS

Well I being very grateful for their services and acting as a proper alumni, donated AND placed the video on my bloggie and twitter. I was so amazed at the power of the dog blog pack. I got the following email on Nov 8th.. a little over a week.

Hey Debi & Norwood!

Just wanted to say thank you for putting our appeal up on Norwood's blog! You are not going to believe it, but 296 people were referred to the video from your website!

We are doing great with fundraising... $12,395 as of this morning and I think Joanne, Traci, and I have exhaled for the first time in a long time. We could not have done it without your help.

Many, many thanks and hugs to our little angel!
Kelly

(mom thinks I do look like an angel in this photo)

All I did was post it! I hope it generated funds.. can't tell truly. But the number of times viewed from my bloggie speaks volumes. Thank you dog blogging pack! And a special thanks to Penny & Velcro who donated and also retweeted and facebooked (is that a verb) a post passing on the appeal for funds!
Thank You! and as Asta would say "smoochie kisses"

fall fell part two

hi every bloggie!
Fall is done. I thought I'd show you a bit more evidence.
Look at my park. The trees have some explaining to do. Okay okay I will admit I love to crunch the leaves. Plus you can hear the squirrels much better.
Look into the sky... it's cross stitched with branches.. no leaves.
Oh here are a few.. brown spotted... not as pretty but hanging on as long as they can.
The river is more of a blah blah brown. Sorry Brownie.. I like brown but on you with a hint of pink.
Some trees replaced their leaves with berries. I thought that was a nice compromise.
I tried to capture the leaf falling. Can't tell.
Hello hellllooooo! Yep pine overtakes the landscape.
But it does add a nice scent to the air.
And of course my blog assistant had to get in a few leaf shots. If that's what trips her trigger.
It's like their falling on you!
Okay now about me.. my eyebrows have grown so much this fall. Aunt Dee calls them Andy Rooneys.
oh no..... do I have to show you?
Yep fall is done and bring on the mud. The river bank receded and left it all muddy. I don't mind.. My friend Kasha wears mud boots too!
Mom will just have to get use to it. Toodle loo fall!
This post is a bit long but if you want to see all my fall fell shots, watch the slide show.

fall fell part one

hi every bloggie,
Last weekend we had very gusty winds. It blew every thing around.
I had to tuck my tuners back so they didn't blow away. Look the beautiful leaves all fell down.
The river is getting ready for winter mode. Blah.
But the little turtles took a last chance to sun bath. See them next to the arrow! I always hear Kerplop Kerplop when I get near them.
Then I checked on my walkie friend. He comes to see me in his yard. We have a nice game of pee wars every time.
Oh.. well.. I think fall is done. C'est la vie!

eYewatch friday! #18

hi every bloggie!

What a long week. Finally, eYewatch Friday! First of all, eYe have to tell you about what happened a couple weeks ago. I wasn't feeling too good. My belly hurt. My poop was funny. Dun dun dun.. so I had to make a trip to a .. dun dun dun.. the vet. Yep of course, there is an eYewitness account of this torturous event.

Me.. waiting. Why do I hear crying and yelping? and People laughing?
Look my tuners are tuning in more strange sounds.

And then the vet tech enters. I tackle her with a hello. That might tell her who's in charge. But she snatched me and put me on this table. She moved with a quick strike and amazing strength.
I can only imagine what she's gonna do to me... then Oh yes.. a little to the left please. This isn't so bad after all.

I think I like this. I think she likes me! Really horrible here. Come to find out I was diagnosed with one of those "itis" condition. My poop shooter is inflamed. A few magic pills and I'm back to normal.

And now... your eYewatch upclose shots.
No better place to be than on my pillow palace. My eYebrows get so heavy.
You couldn't keep your eyes open with these fuzzy caterpillar things either. Happy eYewatch!
